Keeping secrets and not being truthful to ourselves can lead to a miserable life and an early grave. Should we or shouldn’t we keep secrets? I believe secrets should be kept in other to protect a family member/loved one or after the purchase of a $ 450 Leon Max pair of shoes…just kidding! Secrets can hurt and destroy families may be not immediately, but it eventually comes out in the open. “For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. If anyone has ears to hear, let them hear” Mark 4:22-23. Most often, the secret bank account, extramarital affairs, extra purchases etc. can be the beginning and an end of a beautiful relationship. At one point, we would realize that, what we were trying to keep was not worth keeping after all.

I choose not to have secrets because I intend to free my soul by sharing my burden with others. I just have to choose someone to trust with certain secrets at any given time.  This would keep my mind at peace knowing that my problems are being taken care of by others either through prayers or gossiping. Regardless, I am rest assured I would have a good night sleep. Think about it!

A lot of us are dying in silence because we can’t trust others, even ourselves. We keep our problems locked in and put a fake smile on our faces but secretly, we are dying in silence. Which is worse? That is the least of my problems. People will always talk, let them! Proverbs state that “A fool’s lips walk into a fight, and his mouth invites a beating” Don’t just let it bother you once they are done talking about you, they would move to the next juicy topic. Share your problems to the right person and free yourself from the burden. Which spectrum are you going to choose? Remember a problem shared is a problem solved. So make it a habit and live in peace.
