Is prayer still my link to God? Always! Everytime! Most definitely! I can’t afford not to pray – Prayer for me hails from a place of sorrow, trauma, tribulation, anguish and became my freedom session. Prayer for me is not an option, but a lifestyle. Not praying will be a disadvantage to me and a mockery to the God who saved me. Prayer should be the first thing on our minds when we wake up in the morning and the last thing when we retire to our beds. Sometimes, it is not so much how long we pray rather where our attention is geared throughout the day. It can be as simple as Father, thank you for giving me another day or I feel blessed to be alive and I embrace whatever comes my way. We live in an all consuming world, where time is an essence, God created time but lives in eternity. Life is measured by the effective use of one’s time. Therefore time wasted is life abused, according to Dr. Myles Munroe. we should get in the habit of praying in between activities, intermittent, lunch breaks, in our cars, kids games etc. In other words, we should be praying without session.
Our gracious and ever living God, Jehovah Elohim (God, Judge, Creator), Captain of Salvation, Defender of Israel, my strength and my redeemer, Eternal Ruler, Adonai (Lord, Master), Forgiver of Sin – Father We come to you just as we are with nothing to call our own. We give you thanks, adoration, dominion; thank you for the air in our lungs and for the opportunity to call you LORD. Thank you for Provision, thank you for Protection, and thank you for Prosperity. We are thankful as your bride for placing your hands upon us and releasing your spirit into our lives. We humbly bow down to your throne and surrender our all to You. “Let us continually offer God a sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of lips that confess His name.” Hebrews 13:15.
We are nothing without you Lord and we can’t achieve anything without God. All possessions we have are God’s. We revere you, we worship you, we praise you, we adore you, we lift you higher than any other, we elevate you, we place you at the center of our every move, our going and coming this day and forever more. May your kingdom come, may your name be kept Holy, may you be highly exalted, may we make you a priority instead of an option. Father we bow down to no one but You. We humble ourselves and give you full control of our everyday affairs. We proclaim your great name, we proclaim your power, we proclaim your holiness and ask your Spirit to hold every negative thought captive and make them obedient to your word Lord. Holy Spirit, come into my life and make your voice the loudest I hear. Grant me the wisdom to be obedient to you, direct me, instruct me, teach me, shape me, mold me and make me a vessel for your kingdom. “I will give thanks to the Lord because of His righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the Lord Most High. Psalms 7:17.
Jehovah Shalom (The Lord is Peace), I offer myself as a living sacrifice to the works of your kingdom. Father, help me to humble myself, so I can be lifted up at the very last day. May my service be accepted and pleasing in your sight. Help me not to allow my act of kindness to be known as that of the hypocrites, who wanted to be honored by others. Instead, I pray my servitude be seen as an act of benevolent, not so that I would boast but that your name will be glorified. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Colossians 3:23-24. All glory, honor and power belongs to you Lord, and when You see me, may my life reflect the creator I serve. Healer of my soul, help me to see others the way you see them – love, worthy and acceptable in your sight no matter the color of their skin, their origin, political affiliation, heritage, sexual orientation etc. You loved me even before I was created, may your unconditional love transcend to the darkest parts of my heart, so that I may become more like you and less of me. “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has begun.” 2 Corinthians 5:17.
El OLam (The God of Eternity, The God of the Universe, The God of ancient days). Father, there are so many trials we face on a daily basis, some unwavering, while others are above our bearing capacity. I know you didn’t promise me a smooth life, rather, you promised I won’t be alone in those difficult times because of your guaranteed comfort. Lamb of God, please give me the strength to withstand every difficulty & challenges that comes my way. “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” Psalms 51:10. My Source of life, you overcame the grave, so all the happenings in the world means nothing to you, since I am from you, I know the same power lives in me. Grant me the ability to speak life and hope to my trials, troubles, tribulations and anything on this earth that is trying to drag me to an early grave. I denounce any negative thoughts, and revert them back to where they originated from. I bear the mark of Jesus Christ on my forehead, I am the daughter of Zion – Jesus Christ is my Father – His Grace is sufficient for me! You are the man at war, I command the Holy Spirit to fight those who are too strong for me to handle. “Contend, O Lord, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me. Take up shield and buckler; arise and come to my aid.” Psalms 35:1-2.
I will glorify you because of the victory ahead. Thank you in the middle of prosperity, in the middle of the storm, Covid, calamity, war, ancestral cause uncertainty – You alone are worthy. When I am faithless you are faithful, In my weakness, you are strongest, when I am helpless, you are my helper – there is nobody like you Jesus. He who keeps me in perfect PEACE. “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.” 2 Corinthians 4:8-10.
Jehovah Jireh (The Lord will provide), we thank you for granting us another opportunity to embrace a new dawn. Today is a newday you have made, we will rejoice and be glad in You. As we go about our day, may the Holy Spirit lead us to the right path and help us to have the right contacts, meet the right people, make lasting first impressions and most importantly impact the world through the way we live our lives. “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalms 91:1. My Rock and my Fortress, we declare today that we will dwell, no matter the storms ahead, we will overcome and come against any spirit of rejection, any spirit of promise and failure or any wandering spirits looking for someone to devour, we come against it in Jesus name. Jehovah Tsidkenu, (The Lord is our Righteousness) we will not lack, we will not borrow, we will not beg, we will have in abundance and lend to people. We must possess our possession in Jesus’ name.
My comforter, you are our security, there is nothing the world can offer to us that you haven’t already given us, Father refuel our hope in you. You are the only constant thing when everything else fades, one thing remains the same, and that is YOU – Jesus Christ. I am who you say I am “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made, your works are wonderful, I know that fully well” Psalms 139:14. Lord May I be highly favored by all who I come in contact with and may my hard work never go unnoticed. Help me to use my hands diligently, so that you may bless the works or my hands. “And to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you, so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one. 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12.
God of Forgiveness, Jehovah M’kaddesh (The Lord who sanctifies you). I admit I am a sinner, I have sinned against you, against your people; with my words, my actions, my eyes, in my movement and manners – Father sanctify me, cleanse me with your blood, purify my sins and make me hold. “If we claim to be without sin, we deceived ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:8-9. God our Redeemer, you are a merciful God, a compassionate God, an ever faithful God, it is not in your making that I would perish, but that my sins will be as white as snow. You offered your Son as a sacrificial lamp for my sins; Jesus Christ paid the ransom to free us from sin, death and hell can no longer hold us captive. “Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe, Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.” I am not worthy to call you Lord, yet you choose me and call me your friend, with affirmation that my sins no longer have a hold on me. Holy Spirit, I surrender my sinful nature to your authority, father strip and cut off every part in my body that is disobedient and sinful to you in any way. “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” Galatians 5:1.

Jehovah Shalom (The Lord of Peace), I have been hurt by others and vice versa, but your blood makes sinners to be clean. Just as you have forgiven us our sins, help me to forgive others in the same manner. “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” John 8:7. My pain is wearing me down, and heavy laden. I feel like I am at a crossroad. I need You to relinquish me from my anguish. I lay down my pain Lord from everyone, knowingly and unknowingly; against my person, my race, my existence and even for your name sake. I stand before you today and release all those who have offended me in one way or the other. I let go of the resentment and any thoughts of revenge. I vindicate them today and free myself from the control of my oppressors in Jesus’ mighty name. “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32. Many will come against me, give me the strength to withstand them, share my faith with them, and an ability to point them to the direction of the Cross. We are an imperfect being, let your perfection be made known to us. “Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” Matthew 5:48.
Anointed One, Our sinful nature is jealousy, cunning, finger pointing, backbiting, manipulative, dishonesty and unwillingness to see the good in others. Don’t allow us to be tempted more than we can handle, but grant us with a spirit of truth to guard us into all truth. Show us how to flee from temptation and protect our eyes, hearts, mind from sinning against You – sin of commission, sin of omission, and all sins of the flesh. “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit to sustain me. Then I will teach transgressors your ways, so that sinners will turn back to you.” Psalms 51:10-13. Father of Light, eliminate all negative, unhealthy and unwanted thoughts in my mind and transform them into “whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.” Philippians 4:8.
My intercessor, help me not to be one who does things out of pressure, but to seek your face and allow the Holy Spirit to guard and lead me into the direction you are calling me – Holy Spirit come! Spirit of procrastination, depart from me, spirit of temptation – I cast and bind, spirit of laziness – flee from my mist, spirit of oppression you have no grip on me. Hope of Salvation, grant me wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord, so that I may live according to the purpose you have set forth in my life, and stay away from all misleading traps the thieves have set forth for me. “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10
Jehovah Nissi, (The Lord my Banner), evil is all around us, the devil and its agents are trying so hard to destroy the works of your hands, but we refuse to fall prey. Help us to “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” Ephesians 6:11. Wherever they have gathered against us, Father scattered them by fire, wherever they have taken our names to, may our names be erased from their records. Whoever has taken my blessings captive, Lord I reclaim my lost blessings in the mighty name of Jesus. Whatever blood part they must have made in exchange for my life/children, I disentangle myself from their lineage and hold firmly on to the Cross. “May those who seek my life be disgraced and put to shame; may those who plot my ruin be turned back in dismay. May they be like chaff before the wind, with the angel of the Lord driving them away; may their path be dark and slippery, with the angel of the Lord Pursuing them.” Psalms 35:4-6. Purifier, I call upon the power of the Holy Spirit to fortify me and my family against any spiritual attack, any secret plots, death’s door, shrine, open grave or oracle; wanting to suck my blood or members of my family. I command confusion and war in their camp, may you bring miscommunication amongst themselves. May they begin to fight each other, use their weapons against themselves and gradually kill their own in exchange for our souls.
Yahweh, I vomit every poisonous water or food I have eaten or drank in my sleep, and I divert it back to my enemies. “May my Oppressors eat their own flesh and get drunk on their own blood, as with wine. Then all mankind will know that I, the Lord, am your Savior, your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.” Isaiah 49:26. I break all chains holding me and my family hostage and I declare freedom against all evil forces surrounding my home, my marriage, my children, my relations, my job, my family. I embrace all your good, pleasing, and perfect will for my life. Holy Spirit, I break and cast any battle that is too strong for us to handle, from our parent’s side; we rebuke any ancestral curse by standing firm on the foundation or the Lord. We reclaim our luck from any witch doctor’s, sorcerers or witchcraft related charms. We free ourselves and look up to the Cross for protection, faith and restoration. Adonai, make us invisible in their sight in the Mighty name of Jesus. “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians 6:12. We refuse to suffer what we don’t know about. The sins of our forefathers will not locate us and will not be carried over. I disengage myself from any lineage trying to bypass its ways into my life, my children’s life and future generation; I said back to the sender in Jesus name. “They who seek my life will be destroyed; they will go down to the depths of the earth.” Psalms 63:9.
Our prayer started with us given praises, Glory and adoration to God, and should also end with us doing the same. We should be thanking God because we believe what we requested in prayer has already been accomplished – “God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?” Number 23:19. We have to pray with faith, having the confidence that He will bring His work to completion. If we pray with doubt, we have already defeated the purpose of prayer. My Bible tells me that it is God’s word that demolishes strongholds, He has never fought any battle and lose, He stick closer than a brother, He is the embodiment of perfection, He is Just, His words are true and Amen, His plan for us are good – the Lord is His name.
Father you alone are worthy, you are enough, I am complete because you said I am. “You dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4. Help me to create time for an uninterrupted moment with You, to draw near to You, to recognize your purpose in my life, to see you as my first response rather than last resort, to follow in your steps and do the things I see my Father doing. Daddy, use me like an instrument, teach me Your ways, and lead me in a straight path everlasting. “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2. Your kingdom is where I belong, your precepts are what I will follow, Your vision is for my life to sing a new song, your objective is for the world to know Your existence and Your mission has already been fulfilled through your Son and because of that We are – FREE. Elohim, Let our suffering transform us, our freedom liberates us, may Your hope renew us and our hearts will testify “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.” Revelation 4:8.
Jesus Christ – the Good Shepherd, the Maker, our Creator, our Intercessor, is seated at the Father’s right hand interceding on our behalf. He is in Awe of You! “He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.” Titus 3:5-7. The word of God is living and active, it testifies to the birth, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, it provides us with wisdom/understanding. His words revive us, renews us, transforms us & restores us. His word is a guard, His word is our nourishment and His words make us completely WHOLE. You can never say you know it all, when you don’t know God – God is knowledge, God is truth, God is God – in Him, everything is made new. “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” Mathew 5:14-16.
